This casual Somerville Indian bistro specializes in traditional North Indian delicacies and (you guessed it) creative kebabs. What makes this Indian place different from others is that the dishes are very mild (also delicious).
Start your meal with an order of lamb potli samosas ($5) or one of the Factory's freshly-baked breads—naan, poori, roti, or chapathi. Entrees range from salaoni macchi (mahi mahi cubes with herbs and spices, $14) to shaan e murgh (chicken stuffed with cheese and nut mousse, $15). The kesar mango cheesecake ($4.50), mango lassi ($4), or pistachio shake ($4) all bring the meal to a sweet finish.
For a great deal, come for the lunch buffer where you can sample from at least 4 different dishes and several appetizers for a bargain $7. Appetizers $5-8, entrees $12-18.

The décor may be unusually trippy (gilded walls, blue fairy lights, and even a pair of disembodied mannequin legs), but you don't have to be a surrealist to enjoy this romantic, upscale Somerville eatery's exciting menu of 40 tapas and 9 authentic Spanish entrees. For the uninitiated, tapas, loosely translated as “appetizers,” are savory little dishes to share; count on ordering 2-3 per person. Sample the mushroom-stuffed artichoke hearts ($7.50) or the pato braseado (roast duckling with berry sauce, $7.50). If you'd rather stick to a single dish, paella is always a classic ($24). Don't forget the famous sangria or the impressive Spanish wines and ports. And for dessert, the consistently appearing “monthly special” of strawberries in vanilla sherry butter with ice cream ($7.50) is heavenly. Tapas $4-8.50; entrees $17-24. Arrive early, as Dalí doesn't accept reservations—after 6pm, even Salvador himself would have to wait.

Rosie's is well aware that chocolate is the way to a girl's heart...or at least the key to her satisfaction. Hence their trademark Chocolate Orgasm ($2.50), a sensuously rich brownie smothered in gooey chocolate and topped with an even richer frosting. The bakery doesn't make bread, but it whips up all manner of delectable croissants, cookies, and pastries ($1.50-2.50). Rosie's selection of cakes can also be made to order (6 in. $20, 8 in. $27; slices $3). The bakery itself is redolent of grandma's house—all neon pinks and pastels, but very homey and welcoming.
